Thomas Miles Richardson came from a family of well known artists from Newcastle-upon -Tyne. His subjects were always of the highest quality especially his Italian landscape scenes. He was a skilled draughtsman with a good eye for composition being fond of bright colours and white heightening. This painting features a Martello tower on a hill with a fishing village in the background.
Prints are available in a Limited Edition of 150.

A mid nineteenth century rendition of this classic Venetian scene with intricate figure work in the foreground. Painted in the style of many of the artist’s contemporaries. Original purchased at auction through international auctioneers Phillips in the early 1990s.
